New Bulk Silos – August 2014

Askew & Barrett have recently completed the installation of two new Silos with a combined total capacity of 600 Tonnes. The new additions will be used to hold re-cleaned Human Consumption Beans for the North African Export Market. The Silos have been strategically placed so that not only can they be automatically filled straight form the production line, but also then self-empty to feed our Bulk Container Loader (Designed & Built In-House). This not only reduces handling, and therefore minimises the already negligible risk of contamination, but speeds up the loading process whilst reducing labour at the same time. The silos were completed just in time for the 2014 harvest and will allow for longer production runs, therefore reducing down time and subsequently increasing further, the already extremely efficient production process.
